Prunus x cistena

This ornamental shrub has dainty pink, fragrant blooms blanket this large shrub first thing in the spring. Followed by rich purple-red foliage. Excellent contrast shrub. Can be pruned like a small tree or kept shrub-like.

The shrub can die back in harsh winters. Prune out the dead growth and it will grow back to its regular self very quickly.
