Rheum palmatum var. tanguticum

Extra large, pointy, purple-red spring foliage turns dark green on upper surface and red beneath. Young stems are red and mature to green-red. Bloom clusters in shades of red, pink and sometimes white in late spring. This is NOT an edible rhubarb, use is strictly ornamental.

  • Prefers well drained soil.
